Fun Baby Shower Games
There are literally hundreds of different games that you can play at a baby shower, some are fun and some and not. If you are planning a baby shower or even wondering what will be done at your own I have decided to compile a list of some of the baby shower games that you can play.
The Name Game The name game is a simple but fun game that can be played when the parents have already chosen their baby’s name and are willing to share it will the guests. To play the game you will need the name, pens and paper. The guests will take the letters of the name or names to form new words. You can either have it as a times game or a game that they can add to during the party until the sheets are picked up. The winner of the game can be chosen through a random drawing, the best answers or the most unique answers.
Mother’s Weight. Okay, this is a game which is only appropriate for a woman who is comfortable enough to stand in front of a crowd while being ogled by everyone else who is going to guess her weight. The mother has to stand in front of the room and model for the guests. She should also do a few turns and let everyone get a good look at her. Them the guests have to guess how much she weighs. This is certainly not a traditional game, but it can be fun and interesting.
Baby Bottle Bowling. Now this game can be a little rowdy. It is always interesting to find new games to play with baby themed objects. You can fill up baby bottles with something to make them heavier like a liquid such as milk or even something solid like rice baby cereal. Then you give the guests a small ball like a tennis ball or street hockey ball and allow them to try and knock down the pins, two tries just like in real bowling. The best score wins. If there is a tie they can compete again until a winner is found.
Word Scramble. One basic game that can be used at every party is to make a list of baby related words and scramble them up. Pass out the list, and have the guests try to unscramble as many words as possible. This should be a timed game and you should make sure you include some tougher words to keep it challenging. The person with the most unscrambled words wins.
Not Allowed Not allowed is a fun game to play at a baby shower. At the beginning of the shower you need to let all the guests know what words, phrases or actions are not allowed. This could be crossing your legs, or swearing or saying a certain name. Then you can pass out a baby related item such as pacifiers to the guests. Let the guests know that they each get one pacifier and if they see another guest doing an action or saying a phrase which is not allowed that they can then steal all of their pacifiers. Near the end of the party you can collect and count the pacifiers. The person with the most wins.
Baby Advice Game This game is a way for the guests to share their insights with the new parents. From the time a woman announces her pregnancy on, everyone, including perfect strangers, wants to help her by giving unsolicited advice. At some point, usually rather soon, a women stops listening. BY having this game people can share advice that the parents will at least consider. You should buy a special book or make shapes like hearts or flowers out of large construction paper. Let the guests each write down whatever they want, advice, stories, etc., for the mother. The parents can read them later when they are willing to listen to what everyone has to say.
There are so many games that you can play at a shower, and listed above are a few of the best. Make sure you decide carefully on which to choose and take into consideration the guests, time limits and what the mother would approve.
