The most common Shih Tzu health problems are joint, eye, and dental issues. In the joints of a Shih Tzu, it can be knee cap slipping or hip dysplasia. In the eyes, the more common problems are dry eye, cherry eye, cataracts, and Progressive Retinal Atrophy. Dental problems in Shih Tzus can come from the teeth being too crowded and can gum problems or tooth decay.
